Iran Calls for Formation of Strong Muslim Bloc to Promote Unity

During a meeting with Pakistan’s Army Chief Field Marshal Asim Munir in Islamabad on Tuesday, President Pezeshkian stressed the importance of strengthening unity in the Islamic world and enhancing coordination among Muslim nations to safeguard their collective interests.

The Iranian president praised the Pakistani government, people, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, and the country’s military leadership for constructive efforts to support peace and encourage mediation in regional affairs.

“The efforts of this brotherly and friendly country in supporting peace are worthy of appreciation,” Pezeshkian said.

Referring to Iran’s response to recent US-Israeli military aggressions, the president stated that the Iranian government, people, and Armed Forces remained united and succeeded in frustrating the objectives of their adversaries.

He said Pakistan’s active diplomatic engagement reflects its belief in the importance of solidarity among Muslim nations and expressed confidence that relations between Tehran and Islamabad are entering a new phase of broader cooperation across political, economic, and strategic sectors.

Pezeshkian emphasized that the Islamic world possesses significant political, economic, and human capacities and said greater coordination among Muslim countries could contribute to resolving regional crises and strengthening collective resilience.

For his part, Field Marshal Munir briefed the Iranian president on recent negotiations and the signing of an agreement and expressed appreciation for the support extended by senior Iranian officials, particularly President Pezeshkian.

Despite external pressure, he said, Pakistan believes that no Muslim nation should be subjected to suffering and stressed the importance of preserving peace, cooperation, and unity across the Islamic world.

The Pakistani military chief also stated that through resilience and steadfastness, the Islamic Republic of Iran had conveyed an important message to the Israeli regime and succeeded in defending its rights.
