The European parties showed “no effort” and adopted an irresponsible stance during the so-called snapback mechanism discussions, Esmaeil Baqaei said at a press conference on Tuesday, adding that “the world is witnessing this behavior.”
He stressed that Europe’s position will not improve through complaints alone, saying that if European states want to play a role, they must revise their approach toward Iran and regional developments.
Responding to France’s claims that it has a role in Iran’s nuclear program and should be part of any final agreement, Baqaei dismissed the remarks, saying such statements amount to “empty talk from a position of irrelevance.”
He also criticized a pattern among some European states of sidelining themselves while simultaneously attempting to obstruct any emerging diplomatic process.
The spokesman said France in particular must reconsider its approach if it seeks influence in the process, urging Paris to adopt a more constructive stance toward regional developments instead of making negative statements.
