Iran Launches over 2,200 Agricultural Projects Nationwide

At the ceremony, and upon the president’s order, projects in the fields of water and soil management, livestock and poultry, agricultural processing and complementary industries, horticulture, crop production, and fisheries were launched across the country on Monday.

The projects, concentrated particularly in the provinces of Khuzestan, Kerman, Isfahan, Khorasan Razavi, Hormozgan, Ardabil, and West Azarbaijan, were implemented with total investment exceeding 30 trillion tomans.

According to figures presented at the event, 79 percent of the investment required for the projects was provided by the public and agricultural sector operators. The implementation of the projects is expected to generate direct employment for 42,000 people and indirect jobs for another 30,000.

Addressing the ceremony, President Pezeshkian praised the efforts of managers, specialists, and all those involved in implementing the projects. He also hailed the Iranian nation’s major victory and commended the country’s Armed Forces, saying the people of Iran had disrupted the calculations of adversaries through their exceptional participation and thwarted hostile plans against the country.

The president further stressed the need to draw on successful international experiences in the agricultural sector, urging officials to study how other countries achieve higher agricultural output with lower water consumption.

He said that while Iran allocates a significant share of its water resources to agriculture, the country still faces productivity challenges and emphasized the need for continuous planning and action to improve efficiency and optimize resource use.
