Major General Ali Abdollahi issued a message on Saturday marking the first anniversary of the martyrdom of his predecessor Major General Gholam Ali Rashid in a terrorist crime committed by the Zionist regime at the outset of the imposed 12-day war in June 2025.

General Abdollahi paid tribute to the late commander for his role in shaping Iran’s defense doctrine and emphasized the continuation of his path.

He stated that although the martyrdom of the senior commander had been a painful loss, it once again demonstrated the deterrent capability and national strength of the Islamic Republic of Iran before the world.

Abdollahi said the late commander had maintained a comprehensive understanding of the enemy’s hybrid threats and had played an irreplaceable role in preserving Iran’s lasting security through a combination of strategic patience and strengthening offensive and deterrent capacities.

He further stated that the assassination of Rashid by the Zionist regime with the cooperation of the terrorist government of the United States was itself evidence of the late commander’s key position in advancing the country’s defense objectives.

The loyal and appreciative Iranian nation, following the path of martyrs and acting under the guidance of Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Mojtaba Khamenei, would continue to stand firmly alongside the Armed Forces in confronting enemy threats, Major General Abdollahi stated.

He noted that, by God’s grace, the world would soon hear the echo of victory by Iran and the Iranian nation and witness the triumph of resistance over the aggressor and terrorist enemies.
