In a message posted on his X account on Saturday, Esmaeil Baqaei mourned the deaths of three Lebanese military forces who were killed when an Israeli airstrike targeted their military vehicle on the Khardali road in southern Lebanon.
“The targeting of Lebanese Army personnel by the Israeli enemy once again confirms that the occupying regime's hostility is directed against Lebanon in all its components and segments,” Baqaei said.
He added that the Zionist regime “makes no distinction between an army soldier, a resistance fighter, and a civilian,” just as it does not differentiate between “a child, a woman, and an elderly person.”
“Everyone who lives on this land is a target of its (Israeli) aggression, and all of Lebanon bears witness to its crimes,” he stated.
Baqaei described the killing of the three Lebanese military forces in a “savage Israeli airstrike” targeting a military vehicle on the Khardali road as “a clear crime against Lebanon, its army, and its sovereignty.”
He said the attack conveyed an unmistakable aggressive message that “Israel wants neither security, nor stability, nor prosperity for Lebanon.”
The Iranian spokesman offered his “most sincere condolences” to the families of the victims, the leadership of the Lebanese Army, their comrades-in-arms, and the government and people of Lebanon.
“Honor and glory to the martyrs, and shame upon an enemy that knows no limits in killing, aggression, and crimes against others,” Baqaei added.
The message came after the Lebanese Army announced that several military personnel, including senior officer Brigadier General Wissam Sabra, were killed in a brutal Israeli airstrike on a military vehicle traveling on the Khardali-Nabatieh road in southern Lebanon.
