Iranian Hajj Pilgrims to Return Home as of June 1

Referring to the latest situation of Iranian pilgrims in Saudi Arabia, Rashidian said that the Hajj rituals for Iranian pilgrims would conclude by Friday afternoon and the pilgrims would then return to their hotels.

He noted that thanks to the measures taken and the deployment of medical teams along the routes, no major incident occurred for Iranian pilgrims during the rituals.

Rashidian added that return flights carrying Iranian pilgrims back to the country will begin on June 1.

The head of the Hajj and Pilgrimage Organization also referred to some difficulties regarding the return of pilgrims, saying that authorities faced problems in allocating flight stations in certain regions of Iran, particularly in southwestern and northwestern parts of the country.

He expressed hope that with the cooperation of the airline companies and airport authorities in the coming days, the necessary conditions would be provided to establish flights to those regions as well, enabling pilgrims —especially exhausted and ill individuals— to return more comfortably to their cities and provinces.
