Tehran, Muscat Call for Closer Cooperation, Regional Stability

In the Tuesday call, President Masoud Pezeshkian and Sultan Haitham bin Tariq underlined the importance of deepening bilateral relations and continuing high-level consultations in order to transform the spirit of Islamic solidarity into practical and sustainable cooperation across various fields.
President Pezeshkian conveyed his Eid al-Adha greetings to the Sultan and the Omani people, describing the occasion as a powerful reminder of unity, sacrifice, and cohesion within the Islamic Ummah.
He also pointed to the spiritual significance of the Hajj pilgrimage, expressing hope that the sense of unity demonstrated during these rites would translate into stronger solidarity and closer ties among Muslim nations.
The Iranian president praised Oman’s consistent and constructive diplomatic role in supporting regional stability, stressing that Muscat holds a special place in Iran’s regional and neighborhood policy.
Pezeshkian further highlighted the importance of expanding bilateral engagement and reiterated his invitation to the Omani Sultan to pay an official visit to Tehran in order to explore new opportunities for enhancing strategic cooperation.
For his part, the Sultan of Oman reciprocated the Eid greetings and emphasized that strengthening unity and cooperation among Islamic countries remains a core and enduring principle of Omani foreign policy.
He also reaffirmed Oman’s continued efforts to maintain constructive dialogue with regional parties aimed at reinforcing security and reducing tensions.
Sultan Haitham welcomed the invitation to visit Tehran, expressing hope that such a meeting would open new horizons in bilateral relations and elevate cooperation between the two countries to a more strategic level.
