President: Iran Seeks to Complement Military Victories through Diplomacy

During a meeting on Monday with senior commanders of Iran’s Law Enforcement Command, Pezeshkian received a report on the force’s performance during the recent war of aggression imposed by the US and the Israeli regime.

Referring to the country’s confrontation with the US and Israeli aggression, the president said the Iranian nation and the country’s Armed Forces managed, through steadfastness and power, to prevent the enemy from achieving its objectives and forced it to accept a ceasefire and halt the war of aggression.

The president said Iran now faces several possible paths, including entering negotiations with dignity, strength, and preservation of national interests in order to secure the rights of the Iranian nation, remaining in a situation of neither war nor peace, or continuing the path of military confrontation.

Pezeshkian stressed that the “rational and logical option” consistent with Iran’s national interests is to complete the victory achieved by the Armed Forces on the battlefield in the diplomatic arena as well, and to secure the rights of the Iranian nation from a position of dignity and power.

The Islamic Republic of Iran, despite distrusting the enemy, considers negotiations possible on the basis of dignity, wisdom, and expediency, he stated.

Pezeshkian said Iran would remain committed to its obligations should an agreement be reached that takes into account the concerns of Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Mojtaba Khamenei and the interests of the Iranian nation.
