CEO of Iran Railways Jabbar Ali Zakeri on Sunday observed the process of reconstruction and safety operations at two damaged points on the Mianeh-Zanjan railroad axis in northwestern Iran.
He told reporters that the major route is ready for reoperation, saying it is planned that the railroad will officially rejoin the national network within the next week with the passage of the Tehran-Van international train.
During this visit, the CEO supervised the installation of concrete bridge box structures and the safeguarding of the track bed. He emphasized the importance of maintaining safety standards alongside accelerating the work and appreciated the responsibility and tireless efforts of railroad employees to restore the vital artery to service.
The Tehran-Van international train route is a critical connection linking Iran’s railroad system with Turkey and further onto European markets. Its closure due to attacks on rail infrastructure had disrupted an essential transit corridor affecting freight and passenger transportation in the region.
