Iran to Hold Elections on Schedule

The spokesperson for the Iranian Elections Headquarters stated on Sunday that the City and Village Councils elections will be held on schedule, magnificently, and with a high turnout.
Mohsen Eslami pointed to regular meetings of the headquarters, even in wartime conditions, and said a joint meeting was held on April 12 with the presence of the head and members of the Elections Headquarters in a webinar format.
The spokesperson emphasized the necessity of accuracy, diligence, and serious follow-up on the execution processes by the heads of provincial headquarters, governors, and district governors.
Eslami stated that the process of reviewing objections concerning the qualifications of candidates is currently ongoing, and the district supervisory boards have until April 16 to provide necessary responses.
He explained that the main upcoming stage is the election campaign period, which will commence on April 23 and continue until April 29.
Regarding the specific conditions of the country, the spokesperson stated that despite the wartime conditions, the cohesion and presence of the people play a decisive role, and the elections will be held on schedule magnificently.
