Iran’s Ceasefire Decision Reflects National Unity, Leadership Consensus: President

Addressing the Iranian nation in a message on the 40th day following the martyrdom of the esteemed Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei, the Iranian president emphasized that the decision to accept the initial ceasefire followed the acceptance of the Islamic Republic’s framework by the United States, representing a pivotal moment aimed at protecting territorial integrity and consolidating the significant victories achieved by Iran’s Armed Forces.

The president added that the ceasefire underscores the importance of the Iranian people’s continuous support and unity in striving for national rights and equitable dialogue, his official website reported.

President Pezeshkian stated that the Iranian nation has changed the power equation amid a fierce confrontation with aggressors, referring to the US and the Israeli regime.

The current stability of Iran is a result of the unity between the people, government, and Armed Forces, he remarked, emphasizing that the ceasefire was a manifestation of the people’s will imposed on their adversaries. Iran seeks peace, not war, and its response to aggression has always been one of defense, he added.

President Pezeshkian noted that those who underestimated Iran’s resilience have now witnessed their failure to subdue the nation. He further asserted that peace derived from a position of strength guarantees the nation’s interests and stressed that Iran is not a battleground for the destructive aspirations of its adversaries.

Emphasizing the unwavering spirit of the Iranian people across various walks of life, he acknowledged them as the core of national security and strength.

Furthermore, President Pezeshkian emphasized that the recent ceasefire was not born of weakness but aimed at safeguarding the long-term interests of the Iranian people and affirming their national victories.

He concluded that Iran seeks no conflict with regional nations and supports coexistence, mutual respect, and just peace, emphasizing that the region’s future should rest on justice, independence, cooperation, and peace that strengthens stability and development.
