Speaking to Tasnim on Sunday, the governor of Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad Province denied reports of any clashes involving US infantry forces in the Kuh-Siah region, rejecting circulating claims as entirely false.
Iraj Kazemijou said the incident in the mountainous area was the result of a missile strike, which left five people dead and seven others injured. He emphasized that there had been no engagement between local forces and any American ground troops.
He dismissed reports suggesting that US soldiers had landed in the area and clashed with Basij or local forces, describing such accounts as baseless and inaccurate.
The governor reiterated that all casualties were caused by the missile impact on the Kuh-Siah heights and not by any armed confrontation.
The official added that the situation in Kohgiluyeh County remains stable and urged residents to remain calm and maintain composure.
