In a statement released on March 30, the IRGC paid tribute to Rear Admiral Tangsiri as a devoted and tireless commander who spent decades in battle “in the path of God,” describing him as a key figure in the “third Sacred Defense.”
The IRGC said he was injured during operations linked to strengthening Iran’s defensive shield along islands and coastlines targeted by hostile forces, after significant retaliatory strikes that reportedly damaged enemy infrastructure and downed a US aircraft.
The IRGC emphasized that the Iranian nation has become accustomed to such martyrdoms and understands that a front which did not halt even with the passing of the greatest historical figures and divine leaders such as Imam Khomeini and Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei will continue its path with even greater strength.
The statement added that with the martyrdom of commanders, the path will also be pursued powerfully, as demonstrated by IRGC Navy fighters who, in recent days and in the absence of this brave commander, continue to deliver crushing blows and maintain decisive command, particularly in the scene of the Strait of Hormuz.
According to the statement, the IRGC Navy has a history of confronting superpower operations, including disrupting tanker escort missions with basic weapons and destroying several US warships during the eight-year war, as well as capturing American and British marines and seizing enemy vessels—memories that remain a source of pride for the Iranian people.
The IRGC added that every fighter is “a Tangsiri” and that the coming days and months will reveal further remarkable developments. It extended congratulations and condolences over his martyrdom to Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Mojtaba Khamenei, the Iranian nation, and the brave naval forces of the IRGC and Army, vowing alongside the Iranian people to continue the path until the complete destruction of the enemy and the liberation of holy al-Quds.
