The Public Relations Department of the Ministry of Intelligence announced the success in a statement to the Iranian nation.
“In a proactive operation by the anonymous soldiers of Imam Mahdi (may Allah hasten his reappearance) in the Tehran Province Intelligence Organization, 39 elements affiliated with the operational network of the American-Zionist enemy and terrorist groups were identified and detained,” the Intelligence Ministry said.
It added that 27 of those detained were members of two “terrorist groups,” and that one suspect had been attempting to establish an operational cell in Sistan and Baluchestan province using naw-seized weapons to create insecurity before being apprehended.
Authorities said they confiscated 49 improvised explosive devices, two Kalashnikov rifles, 16 handguns, 50 magazines, and more than 1,500 rounds of ammunition.
They also reported seizing tasers, tear gas, Molotov cocktails, and large quantities of explosive materials intended for bomb-making, along with seven Starlink devices.
Meanwhile, the ministry said two of the arrested individuals were “Zionist mercenaries” active online, tasked with spreading psychological instability “in favor of child-killing Zionists” and against Iran.
It added that other suspects were providing location data on security forces and their deployments to hostile networks, including a spy network linked to “International.”
The so-called Iran International is an Israeli-supported Persian-language news channel based in London that has been declared a terrorist organization by Tehran for providing false narrative against Iran and providing Israeli military with mostly civilian locations to target.
Separately, the statement thanked the public for cooperation in identifying and reporting suspects, urging citizens to continue sharing information through official intelligence ministry channels.
