US Struggling to Escape Quagmire of War with Iran: Top General

In comments on Tuesday, Major General Abdollahi said the criminal American and Zionist enemies initiated a fierce war aimed at disintegrating Iran.

He noted that on the very first day of war, late Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei and several brave commanders of the Armed Forces were martyred, as the enemy hoped that the nation would collapse within 48 hours without a Leader and that the Armed Forces would be devoid of command.

By God’s grace and with the heroic presence of the great and courageous Iranian nation, along with the unparalleled efforts of the brave Armed Forces over the past 25 days, the enemies, primarily the US, have been forced to defeat, while the proud Iranian nation and its honorable warriors are advancing toward ultimate victory, the commander stated.

Following such disgraceful defeat, the US is seeking a way out and an escape from a war that it instigated itself, he added.

US President Donald Trump, understanding the realities on the ground and becoming mired in the quagmire of war, after losing hope in achieving his goals, has resorted to help from leaders of certain countries to exit the war, the Iranian commander said, describing this significant situation as a great honor for the heroic Iranian nation.

The general stated that at this sensitive juncture of the war, the powerful Armed Forces of Iran remain steadfast in their commitment to defend the dignity of Iran under the complete obedience of Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Mojtaba Khamenei. He stressed that the military forces will continue down this pride-inducing path, with the support of the aware and valiant nation of Iran, until complete victory.

The US and the Israeli regime launched a large-scale unprovoked military campaign against Iran following the assassination of Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei, along with several senior military commanders and civilians on February 28.

The attacks have involved extensive aerial strikes on both military and civilian locations across Iran, causing significant casualties and widespread damage to infrastructure.

In response, the Iranian Armed Forces have carried out retaliatory operations, targeting American and Israeli positions in the occupied territories and at regional bases with waves of missiles and drones.
