Egypt Highlights Efforts to Ease Regional Tensions

In a telephone conversation, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi and his Egyptian counterpart Badr Abdelatty discussed the latest developments and regional and international repercussions of the US-Israeli military aggression against Iran, as well as Tehran's right to legitimate defense.

Araqchi outlined the latest views of the Islamic Republic of Iran regarding the aggression that has been imposed and the decisive and legitimate defense by the Iranian Armed Forces against the aggressors.

The Egyptian foreign minister, for his part, elaborated on Cairo's latest consultations with regional and international actors aimed at reducing tensions in the region.

The foreign ministers of Iran and Egypt also emphasized the importance of continuing consultations between their countries.

The US and the Israeli regime launched a large-scale unprovoked military campaign against Iran following the assassination of Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei, along with several senior military commanders and civilians on February 28.

The attacks have involved extensive aerial strikes on both military and civilian locations across Iran, causing significant casualties and widespread damage to infrastructure.

In response, the Iranian Armed Forces have carried out retaliatory operations, targeting American and Israeli positions in the occupied territories and at regional bases with waves of missiles and drones.
