Araqchi Urges Independent States to Press Aggressors to Halt War on Iran

In a telephone conversation, Araqchi and his Indian counterpart Subrahmanyam Jaishankar talked about the regional and international developments amid the continued military aggression by the United States and Israel against Iran.

They also discussed the state of bilateral relations and cooperation between Tehran and New Delhi.

Araqchi detailed the latest developments concerning the US-Israeli aggressions against Iran and the Islamic Republic’s legitimate defense, stressing the necessity for independent countries to exert pressure on the aggressor and initiator of the war to end aggression and to guarantee the non-recurrence of any violations against Iran's sovereignty and national security.

He stated that the current situation in the Persian Gulf and the Strait of Hormuz is part of the overall regional status and a consequence of the hostile and aggressive actions taken by the US and Israeli regime.

Araqchi emphasized that normalizing the situation requires stopping the attacks and aggression against Iran, and that any cessation of hostilities must be accompanied by guarantees to prevent the recurrence of such aggressions.

For his part, the Indian foreign minister highlighted the significance of strengthening cooperation between the two nations across various fields and stressed the importance of efforts to restore stability and security in the region.

The foreign ministers of Iran and India finally agreed on the continuation of bilateral contacts and consultations with other regional countries.

The US and the Israeli regime launched a large-scale unprovoked military campaign against Iran following the assassination of Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei, along with several senior military commanders and civilians on February 28.

The attacks have involved extensive aerial strikes on both military and civilian locations across Iran, causing significant casualties and widespread damage to infrastructure.

In response, the Iranian Armed Forces have carried out retaliatory operations, targeting American and Israeli positions in the occupied territories and at regional bases with waves of missiles and drones.
