Congratulating Eid al-Fitr to all Muslims including the neighboring neighboring countries, Pezeshkian proposed Friday that a security structure composed of Islamic countries in the Middle East be formed to guarantee peace and tranquility in the region.
Pezeshkian addressed the neighbors, saying, “You are our brothers. There have been issues or damage in our relations, and we are ready to resolve all problems with you.”
He added, “We have no need for the presence of foreigners in the region; we can, through cooperation among Islamic countries, form the ‘Islamic Parliament of the Middle East’ and within this framework regulate our security, economic, cultural, and political relations.”
“We have no right to fight each other; we have no right, under any pretext, to fall into the trap that the enemies have set for us. We announce to the world that we are not seeking chaos in the region. We do not want any country to feel forced to stockpile weapons and ammunition to defend itself, then wait to see whether its territory will be attacked or not,” the Iranian president said,IRNA reported.
“We have absolutely no intention of interfering in the internal affairs of other countries. We absolutely do not wish to see the security and tranquility of the region disrupted. We can resolve this ourselves by helping each other and joining hands. This is a message to the countries of the region: Instead of engaging in media propaganda and conveying to your people the belief that Iran is the cause of unrest in the region, believe and know—and you do know—that it is Israel that causes chaos, unrest, genocide, assassination, and sabotage in the region.”
In another part of his remarks, Pezeshkian spoke about Nowruz and the Iranian New Year, saying, “This year, we need Nowruz more than ever; a Nowruz that showcases unity to the world. In our culture and country, Nowruz has been a symbol of a new beginning in life.”
Referring to the enemy’s action in martyring Iran’s leader and a number of commanders, ministers, and innocent Iranian people, including children, the President described this action of the enemy as inhumane and said, “We were never seeking nuclear weapons... but the president of the United States says to the world that Iran intended to move toward nuclear weapons.”
