Thousands Rally in Toronto for Palestine After Judge Rejects Ban Bid

The demonstration drew significant police attention, yet resulted in just two arrests, including one involving a counter-protester.
Some participants displayed Palestinian and Iranian flags while chanting "Free Palestine," according to the Globe and Mail newspaper.
Several groups, such as the National Council of Canadian Muslims (NCCM), contested the ban in court to safeguard civil liberties related to protesting and to combat anti-Palestinian racism.
The province submitted its motion at noon on Saturday.
"We were pleased to see the court in this case uphold the importance of charter-protected freedoms by dismissing the application," the NCCM said in a statement.
