In a message posted on the social media platform X, Pezeshkian responded to recent mediation efforts by certain countries amid ongoing regional developments.

"Some countries have begun efforts for mediation. Our response to them is clear: we are committed to lasting peace in the region, but we have not the slightest doubt or hesitation in defending the honor and authority of our country. The proper recipients of mediation efforts are those who, by underestimating the Iranian people, set the region on fire," he wrote.

Pezeshkian emphasized that Iran would continue to safeguard its national prestige with strength and resolve.

The president's statement comes as several nations have recently proposed or initiated diplomatic initiatives aimed at de-escalating tensions in the Middle East.
