Baqaei Cites US Senator to Condemn Washington’s ‘Illegal War’ on Iran

In a post on his X account on Thursday, Esmaeil Baqaei highlighted that Senator Markey’s briefing confirmed that the US has pursued military aggression against Iran without a clear plan to end it.

The spokesman emphasized that, as acknowledged by some US officials, this campaign constitutes not only a violation of international law but also a deliberate attack on the Iranian nation, framing it as part of a broader pattern of crimes against humanity.

Edward John Markey, a democrat and the junior US senator from the state of Massachusetts, had said in a post, “I just left the classified briefing on Iran. And it only confirmed what we already knew: Donald Trump is waging an illegal war and he has no plan to end it.”

Baqaei said in his post, “... and based on his 'feeling', the United States chose to wage ‘an illegal war’ on the Iranian nation 'on behalf of Israel' (as Marco Rubio admitted). This is not only a crime against int'l peace but also against humanity.”

The United States and Zionist regime have launched an unprovoked deadly military campaign against Iran following the assassination of Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei as well as senior military commanders and civilians on February 28.

The Iranian Armed Forces have carried out harsh retaliatory strikes, hitting the US and Israeli targets in the occupied territories and the regional countries with a barrage of missiles and drones.

According to Iran’s Foundation of Martyrs and Veterans Affairs, funerals have already been held for 1,230 Iranians martyred in the attacks as of March 5, illustrating the grave humanitarian impact of the campaign.
