Iran Highlights Role of Transit Routes in Promotion of Trade with Kyrgyzstan

In comments after receiving the credentials of Kyrgyzstan’s new ambassador to Tehran Akylbek Kylichev on Tuesday, President Pezeshkian reiterated Tehran’s commitment to strengthening relations with neighboring states, with a particular focus on Kyrgyzstan.
He noted that the two countries’ geopolitical locations and existing transit corridors offer substantial potential for increasing trade and broadening economic ties.
Highlighting the pivotal role of ambassadors, the president said active and purposeful diplomacy can foster deeper cultural, political, economic, scientific, and technological exchanges, turning shared interests into practical cooperation.
Pezeshkian also called for maximizing the use of regional platforms such as the Shanghai Cooperation Organization and the Eurasian Economic Union, describing them as valuable opportunities to boost trade, strengthen regional engagement, and enhance multilateral collaboration.
For his part, Kylichev conveyed the greetings of Kyrgyz President Sadyr Zhaparov and affirmed his determination to utilize all available capacities to further promote bilateral ties.
He also officially invited President Pezeshkian to attend the upcoming SCO summit, which Kyrgyzstan will host later this year.
