The document, which stresses the expansion of economic, trade, and technical cooperation between Tehran and Moscow, sets out the executive framework for bilateral agreements in the fields of energy, oil and gas, petroleum products, transportation, banking, and investment.
The 19th Joint Economic Cooperation Commission between Iran and Russia commenced in Tehran on February 16, with 17 specialized working groups in various economic sectors holding separate meetings.
At the closing ceremony, four additional memoranda of understanding were signed between organizations and companies of the two countries.
Speaking to reporters on the sidelines of the commission, Paknejad said the specialized working groups had prepared the final document after intensive and lengthy meetings.
He stated that negotiations on importing gas from Russia are close to completion, noting that one or two clauses remain unresolved and expressing hope that these would be finalized in focused meetings so that the final contract could be signed soon.
Paknejad also said positive negotiations have been conducted between Iran and Russia regarding a major joint field, adding that further information would be announced once final agreements are reached.
