The UN nuclear chief held talks on Monday morning with Araqchi, who has traveled to Geneva for nuclear negotiations with the United States.
The meeting, held at the residence of Iran’s foreign minister, addressed a number of technical issues related to Iran-IAEA cooperation within the framework of Iran’s safeguards commitments and in accordance with the law passed by the Iranian Parliament.
During the talks, Iran’s technical viewpoints regarding the ongoing indirect nuclear negotiations between Iran and the US were also presented.
Following the meeting, Grossi wrote on his X account, “Just completed in-depth technical discussions with Iran’s Foreign Minister Araqchi in preparation for important negotiations scheduled for tomorrow in Geneva.”
The most recent round of indirect nuclear negotiations between Iran and the United States were held on February 6 in Muscat with Oman mediating the talks.
Araqchi and US special envoy Steve Witkoff had represented Tehran and Washington in the talks.
The new round of negotiations is set to begin in Geneva today.
