IRGC Adviser Dismisses Prospect of US War on Iran

Speaking at a gathering of the Basij professors and elites of the Qom seminary, Moqaddamfar analyzed the new objectives of global arrogance in confronting the Islamic Revolution.

He stated that, according to documents published by the Americans themselves, the United States would not carry out a large-scale and protracted attack against any country, adding that US officials are aware that they lack the ability to continue a war and therefore would not enter into a comprehensive conflict with Iran.

Referring to remarks by Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei that any war would be regional in nature, he said Iran has informed regional countries such as the UAE and Saudi Arabia that US military and economic interests across their territories would be considered targets, telling them not to complain and stressing that Iran has no issue with those countries themselves.

Moqaddamfar emphasized that the US would not embark on military action for two reasons. First, he said, such an attack would require extensive preparations, and otherwise “hit-and-run” strikes would have no impact on the Islamic Republic, adding that worse situations occurred during the 12-day war in June 2025.

Second, he said, the entire region opposes such a move. He pointed out that some of the world’s largest businesses are based in Dubai in the UAE and that even a single missile strike disrupting security would bring all business activities to a halt.

He underlined that the US has used—and would continue to use—the threat of military attack as a game, insisting that Washington has no intention of launching an actual assault.

Moqaddamfar described military threats as a tool to exert pressure, disrupt Iran’s economy, and create instability and volatility in the country’s economic and market spheres.

In remarks on February 1, Ayatollah Khamenei warned the US not to intimidate the Iranian nation with threats.

“The Iranian people aren’t affected by this kind of talk. They aren’t afraid of standing up for what is right. We aren’t the initiators [of war]. We do not seek to oppress anyone. We do not seek to attack any country. However, anyone who shows their greed and seeks to attack or cause harm, will face a decisive blow from the Iranian nation. Of course, the Americans should know this too that if they start a war, this time it will be a regional war,” the Leader cautioned.
