An official at the Islamic Development Coordination Council said the demonstrations will start at 9:30 am across the country on February 11.
He said one of the country’s high-ranking officials will serve as the main speaker of this year’s Bahman 22nd ceremony in Tehran.
The official added that more than 7,700 journalists will cover the Wednesday’s rallies, including 200 foreign reporters who have received activity permits and will be stationed along the march routes.
He further announced that more than 2,000 service and cultural booths will be set up in Tehran by various groups.
According to the official, military and aerospace organizations will also unveil their latest equipment and achievements for the first time along the rally routes, aiming to showcase the country’s scientific strength and military expertise alongside the people.
The images of the martyrs of the January unrest will be displayed along the routes, and the families of the martyrs will have an active presence in the ceremonies, he stated.
In a televised message on Monday, Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei described the 22nd of Bahman as the day when the power and dignity of the Iranian nation are unveiled every year.
“These rallies are unparalleled in the world. Nowhere else in the world do we know of a nation that commemorates its independence day or national day in this manner year after year, after the passage of so many years, and with such massive crowds, that are held throughout the entire country and are able to show themselves in this way,” the Leader stated.
“On this day, the Iranian nation shows itself by taking to the streets, and by doing so, it compels those who covet the Islamic Iran, the Islamic Republic, and the interests of this nation, to retreat,” Ayatollah Khamenei said, adding, “We are hopeful that, God willing, this 22nd of Bahman, like every 22nd Bahman of past years, will further magnify the grandeur of the Iranian nation, will increase it, and will humble other nations, governments, powers, and others before the Iranian nation. And, God willing, this will certainly happen.”
