Speaking at a gathering of foreign ambassadors to Iran in Tehran on Monday on the occasion of the 47th anniversary of the victory of the Islamic Revolution, Pezeshkian said Iran has always emphasized diplomacy grounded in mutual respect and common interests at the international level.
He noted that Iran believes engagement and dialogue are the only sustainable ways to address regional and global challenges.
Iran welcomes and accepts any negotiation conducted on the basis of international law, respect for national sovereignty, equality of positions, and the win-win principle, the president stated, adding that the country’s foreign policy is defined by dignified engagement.
He described the new round of nuclear negotiations in Muscat as a valuable opportunity to resolve the issue in a just, rational, fair, and mutually satisfactory manner.
Pezeshkian said Iran is seeking guarantees for its rights under the Non-Proliferation Treaty, including on enrichment, as well as the removal of unjust sanctions.
He added that Iran will do its part to ensure the success of this path and expressed hope that the other side would also commit to the objective and its requirements without excessive demands so that a desirable outcome can be achieved.
Iran’s message to the world is clear, as the country remains faithful to its commitments provided it witnesses honesty and adherence to obligations by others as well, the president said, adding that Iran extends a hand of friendship to all countries seeking sincere cooperation.
