Lavrov also addressed reports linking Russian politicians and businessmen to Epstein's files, quoting a line from the famous Soviet poet Vladimir Vysotsky: "Our penetration across the planet is especially noticeable from afar."

On the same day, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova noted that the Jeffrey Epstein case has exposed an extreme level of corruption among Western elites.
