In remarks following his recent trip to China alongside the Iranian president, Madanizadeh said that during his meeting with China’s president, strong emphasis was placed on the passage of the East–West corridor through Iran, particularly highlighting the strategic position of the Sarakhs region along this route. He described this as a significant opportunity to link the East and West.

Madanizadeh noted that economic diplomacy remains a key strategic priority for Iran. He explained that the country’s economic transformation will be driven through its free trade zones, focusing on export-oriented production and expanding trade with neighboring and regional countries, especially those with land connections to Iran.

He added that such connectivity, particularly under sanctions, transforms into a strategic advantage for the country.

The minister further stated that expanding trade exchanges naturally strengthens economic security, which in turn can guarantee sustainable social and political security for Iran.
