The text of the statement from the Ministry of Defense and Armed Forces Logistics reads as follows:

The action of the European Union Council in placing the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps on the list of so-called terrorist groups was a spiteful, hasty, and desperate reaction in response to their successive failures in breaking the determination and will of the noble Islamic nation of Iran against all threats designed and directed by foreign agents from outside.

This action by the European Union and its Council of Ministers, which targeted the dear and powerful IRGC of Islamic Iran as the largest institution truly fighting terrorism and preventing the spread of this ominous phenomenon throughout the world, including Europe, is legally fraught with obvious contradictions in international law, including the violation of its principles and rules on which the European Union was founded and gained international credibility.

Now, if we accept that the European Union, as a regional organization, has gained credibility in the international community in accordance with Chapter VIII, then for the same reason, it must adhere to the principle of non-intervention in the internal affairs of countries in accordance with Article 2, Paragraph 7 of the UN Charter and its general customary rule.

What is certain is that the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps, as one of the pillars of sovereignty based on the principles of the Constitution of the Islamic Republic, is considered an inseparable part of sovereignty, and the European Union Council, by criminalizing and attributing unfounded accusations in this matter, has committed two fundamental violations: first, criminalizing against the sovereignty of a country is meaningless, and second, 'sovereignty' is a unified and independent whole that cannot be dissected within the framework of international law and part of it considered terrorist.

This error by the Europeans, following the triggering of the snapback mechanism in recent months, indicates the confusion of the European Union in the international system, which, according to the US National Security document, is on the verge of civilizational collapse, and the decision of the Council of Ministers of the European Union, in addition to revealing legal contradictions and ambiguities, indicates political ambiguity and forgetfulness of human values.

The European Union Council, as an institution that, with indirect election, enjoys the least political legitimacy in the European Union, has reduced its functional legitimacy by adopting a political decision and at the same time committed a widespread violation of the human rights of Iranians in observing the right to freedom and acquired rights.

The EU foreign ministers, in a hostile action on Thursday, announced their agreement to place the name of the IRGC on the list of so-called terrorist organizations of this institution.
