In a statement posted on its official X account on Monday, the embassy of Iran in Lebanon reacted to the renewed Israeli attacks on Lebanese soil, condemning the Zionist regime’s brutal aggression against areas in southern Lebanon and the Bekaa Valley.
It said the Israeli attacks constitute a clear violation of Lebanon’s sovereignty and territorial integrity and have resulted in the martyrdom and injury of a number of people.
The embassy stressed that the continued assassination of innocent civilians, the violation of Lebanon’s sovereignty, and efforts to normalize such attacks will not change the reality that these acts are heinous crimes.
It added that the Israeli actions will only increase the Lebanese people’s awareness of the scale of Zionist aggression and strengthen their determination to resist.
The Israeli warplanes have carried out a series of new airstrikes on several areas in southern Lebanon, targeting al-Rihan Heights, al-Jbour area, and Wadi Berghoz.
The Israeli forces have also launched multiple attacks on areas in southern Lebanon and the Bekaa Valley, killing two people and injuring six others.
The Public Health Emergency Operations Center reported that an Israeli strike targeting the area between Khirbet Selem and Kafardounin resulted in the killing of one civilian and the wounding of five others, while a separate Israeli strike on Dardghaya in the Tyre district claimed the life of another civilian.
The continued Israeli attacks constitute a clear violation of Lebanon’s sovereignty and breach UN Security Council Resolution 1701 as well as the declaration of a cessation of hostilities, with strikes extending across the South, Bekaa, and Beirut’s southern suburbs.
