Iraqi PMU Puts Forces on Highest Alert along Syria Border

Qassem Musleh, the Hashd Shaabi commander for western Anbar operations, said the security situation along the shared border with Syria is stable.

“The security situation along the border strip with Syria is stable,” Musleh said.

He stressed that Hashd Shaabi forces are at the highest level of readiness.

Musleh said there have been no security breaches or infiltrations, adding that Hashd Shaabi units remain on full alert from Anbar province to Sinjar.

He said a reserve unit of Hashd Shaabi forces has been deployed in Anbar and Mosul to respond to any potential aggression against Iraq.

Separately, Musleh said there is strong coordination with the Iraqi government and all security commanders, as well as with the Peshmerga forces of the Kurdistan region of Iraq.
