President Accentuates Firm Iran-Iraq Relationship

In comments at a meeting with Iraqi Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein in Tehran on Sunday, Pezeshkian emphasized that the unity of the Islamic world ensures no external power can threaten it, pledging to advance a path of dignity alongside Iraq.

He highlighted recent positive initiatives, such as the summit of border provincial governors, as constructive steps toward greater synergy and mutual development.

Pezeshkian reiterated that enhancing economic, political, scientific, and cultural cooperation with Iraq and regional neighbors is a core national priority.

The president also condemned external interference, citing the destabilizing role of the US and the Israeli regime in the region, aimed at creating division among Muslim nations.

He described the recent unrest in Iran as a joint operation by the US and the Israeli regime, the president’s official website reported.

In response, Foreign Minister Hussein conveyed greetings from the Iraqi president and prime minister and affirmed that Iraqi officials closely monitor the situation in Iran.

He stressed that Iran’s security is inseparable from Iraq’s and the region’s stability.

While many powers have passed through history, the peoples of Iran and Iraq have endured, the minister said, underscoring the enduring nature of their historical relationship.
