Iran Eyes Closer Ties with Algeria

In a message for his Algerian counterpart Ahmed Attaf on Saturday, Araqchi extended his “sincere congratulations” to the government and brotherly people of Algeria.

Highlighting the “deep-rooted and brotherly relations” between the two nations, Araqchi expressed hope for “further strengthening of existing ties and the expansion of cooperation in pursuit of the shared interests, prosperity, and common goals of both nations.”

November 1 marked the 71st anniversary of the Algerian Revolution, which began in 1954 with a series of attacks by the National Liberation Front (FLN) against French targets. The day, also known as "Red All Saints' Day", commemorates the start of Algeria's war of independence from France and is a national public holiday. The war lasted seven years and led to Algeria's independence in 1962.
