Ramin Rezaeian scored the host’s first goal from the penalty spot in the 73rd minute.

Esteghlal Khuzestan defender Aram Abbasi was shown a red card in the 88th minute after bringing down Mohammad Hossein Eslami in the area.

Rezaeian converted the penalty in the added time to seal a 2-0 win for Esteghlal.

Esteghlal, headed by interim coach Sohrab Bakhtiarizadeh, moved up to eighth place.
