74 Years on Since US Nuclear Bombing of Hiroshima (+Photos)

The photos show the desolate cityscape and apocalyptic landscape, with buildings completely flattened and the surrounding area virtually deserted.

Hiroshima marked the 74th anniversary of the August 6th, 1945, atomic bombing by the US army with a ceremony to remember the people killed and injured and calls for eliminating such weapons and demanding Japan’s government do more.

The US attack on Hiroshima on Aug. 6, 1945, killed 140,000 people. The bomb dropped three days later on Nagasaki killed another 70,000 before Japan’s surrender ended World War II.
