Hashemi lifted 174kg in the snatch and 200kg in clean and jerk in the 94kg weight category.

He won the silver medal for a total of 374kg.

Kazakhstan’s Vladimir Sedov won the gold medal with a total of 386kg and bronze medal went to South Korean Park Han-woong with 368kg.

On Thursday, Iran’s Ayoub Mousavi had claimed a silver medal in the 85kg.

The tournament, which will run until April 30, has brought a total of 161 lifters from 30 countries together and serves as a qualification event for the Olympics.
