Speaking in a meeting with Iranian Ambassador to Russia Mehdi Sanaei, Lomidze said directors of seven major Russian tourism companies will accompany her during the trip due to be made in the near future.

The delegation will visit major Iranian tourist attractions and sign agreements with Iranian tour agencies to facilitate visits by Russian tourists to Iran, she stated.

The Iranian envoy, for his part, noted that the level of tourist exchanges between the two countries does not match the existing level of bilateral relations.

He voiced the embassy’s preparedness to remove obstacles to tourism cooperation between Tehran and Moscow.
