US Basketball Wins 2014 FIBA World Cup

US became just the third country to win consecutive world titles and extended its winning streak in international play to 63 games.

Coach Mike Krzyzewski, who has already led the US to gold medals at the 2008 Olympics, the 2010 world championships, the 2012 Olympics, said, “This has been a great group to work with. They stayed focused on the team they were going to play next. They respected the process, and as a result the process turned out really well.”

On Saturday, France beat Lithuania 95-93 and won the bronze medal at the Basketball World Cup.

Iran also participated in the 2014 FIBA World Cup, where they finished 20th out of 24 teams.
