In a telephone conversation on Sunday, Pezeshkian congratulated the Omani sultan on his birthday and wished health, happiness, progress and prosperity for him and the Omani people.

The Iranian president praised the sultan and the Omani government for their efforts to promote peace and stability in the region, stressing the importance of continued diplomatic consultations, expanded constructive engagement and the use of the regional countries’ shared capacities to strengthen mutual understanding and cooperation.

Pezeshkian also highlighted the longstanding relations and friendly ties between Iran and Oman, formally inviting Haitham bin Tariq to visit Tehran and expressing hope that an opportunity for face-to-face talks would be arranged in the near future.

For his part, the Omani sultan thanked Pezeshkian for his birthday greetings and reaffirmed Oman’s consistent approach of supporting peace, calm and stability in the region. He described maintaining close communication and consultations with Iran as one of Oman’s priorities.

Haitham bin Tariq also thanked the Iranian president for the invitation and expressed hope that he would be able to visit Tehran at an appropriate time.
