Zarei produced a strong performance in the final to secure the runner-up spot and add a historic silver to Iran’s athletics campaign in Nagoya.

Earlier in the competition, Zarei had also contested the women’s 200 meters but failed to advance from the heats.

She clocked 23.64 seconds in Heat 2 of the opening round and finished fourth in her heat.

Iran’s 11-member athletics team at the Aichi-Nagoya 2026 Asian Games consists of Hassan Taftian, Mohammadreza Tayebi, Ali Amirian, Hassan Ajami, Hossein Nouri, Benjamin Yousefi and Sadegh Samimi in the men’s events, alongside Reyhaneh Mobini, Zahra Zarei, Fatemeh Mohiti-Zadeh and Maryam Kazemi in the women’s events.
