Protesters targeted the Dutch Parliament building during the weekly question hour yesterday, accusing the Netherlands of failing to take a sufficiently strong stance on Israel for the genocidal war in the Gaza Strip, according to public broadcaster NOS.

Two people were arrested in connection with the protest, according to authorities.

The XR Justice Now! activist group said it was behind the protest, with demonstrators demanding a boycott of Israel for its actions in Gaza.

The protest occurred after demonstrators in the public gallery interrupted question time by shouting slogans, Anadolu reported.

Following repeated warnings from Parliament Speaker Martin Bosma, the gallery was cleared and all visitors were ordered to leave the chamber.

The parliament building was subsequently temporarily closed off.
