In a post on his X account, Abbas Salehi referred to the Hezbollah secretary general’s remarks regarding the agreement and wrote, “Today, Sheikh Naim Qassem reminded us that the Islamabad memorandum of understanding, with the condition of no aggression against Lebanon, restrained Israel’s attack and led to the return of 300,000 people to their homeland.”

“His appreciation for Iran’s role and the Islamabad memorandum of understanding demonstrates the coordination between diplomacy and resistance,” the Iranian minister added.

“Let us not misinterpret the memorandum,” Salehi concluded.
