Calls Grow to Keep Hormuz Closed, Cancel Talks Until Israel Leaves Lebanon

The savage aggression of the US’ rabid dog, namely the Israeli regime, in southern Lebanon is continuing and has become much more extensive over the past 24 hours.

As was also emphasized yesterday in an article published by Tasnim, failure to stop the Israeli regime’s crimes in Lebanon and its failure to withdraw from all occupied areas of Lebanese territory constitute a complete violation of the Islamabad memorandum of understanding between the presidents of Iran and the United States.

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi has explicitly stated in a televised interview that the first clause of the MoU means the necessity of the Israeli regime’s withdrawal from Lebanese territory.

Until this halt to the Israeli regime’s brutality and its withdrawal from Lebanese territory are achieved, the Strait of Hormuz must remain closed and any future negotiations must be completely canceled.

The continuation of Israel’s crimes and the continued occupation of Lebanese territory by the Zionists mean the death of the memorandum of understanding, and this should not be overlooked.

If, despite the United States’ failure to implement the memorandum of understanding (which includes the commitment to restrain its rabid dog), Iran reopens the Strait of Hormuz, major damage will have been inflicted on Iran’s instruments of power.

Reports currently indicating that the Strait of Hormuz is open are in no way acceptable and are inconsistent with the promises made by government officials and the negotiating team.
