Iran, Egypt Highlight Diplomacy, Muslim Solidarity in Eid Talks

During the Tuesday call, the two presidents exchanged Eid greetings and discussed regional developments, stressing the need to maintain dialogue and political consultations to help reduce tensions and strengthen stability in the region.
President Pezeshkian congratulated the Egyptian government and people on the Islamic holiday and wished them continued progress and prosperity.
He also commended President Sisi for Egypt’s constructive role in supporting regional calm and reiterated Iran’s commitment to resolving issues through diplomatic means.
The Iranian president said Tehran’s regional policy is based on expanding cooperation and convergence with neighboring and Muslim countries, particularly states in the Persian Gulf region.
Referring to recent security developments, Pezeshkian stated that Iran’s military actions against certain regional bases were carried out within the framework of the country’s legitimate right to self-defense.
He also expressed hope that the region would move beyond the current period of instability and enter a new phase marked by cooperation among regional states, Islamic unity, and resistance to foreign interference.
For his part, President Sisi congratulated the Iranian nation on Eid al-Adha and described the occasion as a symbol of solidarity and cohesion across the Muslim world.
The Egyptian president stressed the importance of strengthening relations among Islamic countries under the current regional circumstances and voiced support for ongoing diplomatic efforts aimed at easing tensions and establishing lasting peace.
Sisi also emphasized that mutual respect should remain the foundation for the continued development of relations between the two countries.
