During the call on Friday, the two sides talked about the issues of mutual interest, including relations between the Islamic Republic of Iran and Iraq’s Kurdistan Region.

The discussions focused on economic and trade exchanges as well as strengthening coordination to preserve security along the common borders and combat terrorism.

Araqchi and Barzani also discussed regional developments and underscored the importance of regional countries enhancing indigenous security and cooperation to maintain stability in the region.
