Iran Condemns Israeli Violation of Somalia’s Sovereignty

In a statement released on Monday night, Spokesperson for the Iranian Foreign Ministry Esmaeil Baqaei condemned the Israeli regime’s appointment of a diplomatic envoy to the so-called Somaliland region, which is part of the Federal Republic of Somalia.

He described the move as a clear sign of Tel Aviv’s conspiracy to destabilize Islamic countries and create discord among regional states.

Baqaei stated that such arbitrary Israeli action stands in clear contradiction to the UN Charter and international law, and constitutes a violation of the sovereignty, independence, and territorial integrity of a sovereign state.

The Iranian spokesman also reminded the United Nations, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, the African Union, and all countries of their responsibility to confront lawlessness, expansionism, and interference by the Israeli regime in the internal affairs of other states.
