Iran Condemns Continued US-Israeli War Crimes, Warns Over Escalating Threats

In a statement released on Thursday, the Foreign Ministry denounced the continuation of military attacks and increasingly aggressive rhetoric from Washington, urging the international community to take decisive action against violations of international law.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, referring to the continuation of the unlawful and brutal war by the United States and the Zionist regime against Iran after 34 days, stated that each day reveals new dimensions of the aggressors’ brutality and hostility toward Iran and the Iranian people.

During this period, the US-Zionist aggressors have crossed all legal, moral, and humanitarian boundaries and have refrained from no crime under the pretext of war, it said.

From the very first hours of their savage assault on Iran, alongside terrorist attacks targeting the workplace of the Leader of the Islamic Revolution and senior officials and commanders, they also struck schools, hospitals, and sports facilities. The attack on the Shajareh Tayyebeh elementary school in Minab and the Lamerd stadium in Fars Province on Saturday, February 28, were cited as only two examples of the enemy’s crimes on the first day of aggression, the statement said.

Over the past 34 days, the US-Zionist enemy, in addition to attacking more than 600 schools and educational centers, has targeted numerous universities and scientific research institutions, hospitals and healthcare facilities, as well as historical and cultural sites and museums, it noted.

These attacks, the statement said, clearly demonstrate the hostility of the United States and the Zionist regime toward Iranian identity and roots, as well as their opposition to the scientific progress of the Iranian people.

The statement added that many industrial and production centers built over decades through the efforts of Iranian entrepreneurs and industrialists—despite sanctions and economic pressure—have also been targeted.

At the same time, US officials—frustrated by the steadfast resistance of the Iranian people and their failure to achieve illegitimate objectives—have intensified offensive rhetoric and baseless threats against the Iranian nation, the ministry said.

Repeated threats by the US president to attack Iran’s energy infrastructure, including remarks made on the evening of Wednesday, April 1, were described as clear evidence of hostility toward all Iranians and indicative of criminal intent by US decision-makers to commit grave international crimes, particularly war crimes and genocide, it warned.

The ministry stated that such rhetoric, including threats to destroy Iran’s energy, service, and industrial infrastructure, in itself amounts to incitement to war crimes and genocide, and that all governments are obligated under international law and international humanitarian law to condemn such statements.

It further described explicit threats to bomb Iran “back to the Stone Age” and destroy power plants—vital for the survival of a nation—as violent and unlawful acts aimed at terrorizing civilians. According to the statement, such threats constitute war crimes under Article 51 of the 1977 Additional Protocol I and Article 8 of the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court.

The Islamic Republic of Iran, relying on God and the support of its resilient people, reaffirmed its firm determination to defend its national sovereignty and territorial integrity against US and Israeli military aggression, the ministry said.

It also emphasized the clear responsibility of the United Nations, the United Nations Security Council, the UN Secretary-General, the High Commissioner for Human Rights, humanitarian institutions including the International Committee of the Red Cross, and all governments to fulfill their duties by condemning blatant violations of international law and taking practical measures to hold perpetrators accountable.

The statement warned that indifference toward US and Israeli aggression against Iran, as well as crimes already committed or threatened, would have devastating consequences for international law, morality, and humanity, affecting the entire global community.

It concluded by reiterating that Iran, as it has repeatedly demonstrated, will use all its capacities to defend its territorial integrity and the security of its citizens against military aggression.
