Iran Criticizes Sweden's Support for Espionage Convict

In a telephone conversation on Wednesday, Araqchi and his Swedish counterpart Maria Malmer Stenergard discussed bilateral issues and consular affairs.

In the phone call, the Iranian foreign minister condemned the “regrettable support” of the Swedish government for an individual convicted of espionage for the Zionist regime, emphasizing that the Islamic Republic of Iran does not compromise in any way regarding the security of its people.

The Iranian Judiciary on March 18 executed Kurosh Keivani for espionage for the Zionist regime.

According to the Judiciary, the convict had been chosen by the security service of the Israeli regime in Sweden in 2023 in the cyberspace after submitting his details through a promotional link for group travels.
