Iranian Teen Fencer Secures Historic Gold at Cadet Men’s Sabre World Cup

Moradi made history on Thursday by becoming the first Iranian fencer to win a gold medal in this age group at a World Cup event.

His victory marked a significant milestone for Iranian fencing, as the national team competed in both cadet and junior divisions during the Coupe du Monde.

In a decisive final bout, Moradi overcame Ecuador’s Jose Daniel Valencia Olmedo with a score of 15–12, securing the championship title. Valencia Olmedo, aged 15, earned the silver medal, while Mexico’s Nathan Munguia took home the bronze.

The Iranian team is under the guidance of Farzad Baher, a seasoned coach and former member of the national fencing team with a distinguished record in continental competitions.
